GTA 4 & You!

Today is the day! GTA 4 hits the stores.

I don't know about you but Im going to head over to my favoraite 'Video Game Rental Store" and give it a try! I have really never been a fan of the GTA series. Which I just don't understand.. The game draws a lot of people to it, just not me. BUT...

With mulitplayer support, it now has peaked my interests and I'm hoping to be converted. I have read there will be no supported "Clan" play. Why Not? With all the delays, they could have had this ready, don't you think? Maybe, one of the "Big" surprises will be Clan/Gang support for Xbox Live!

A Michigan avid Video Gamer kills 3 while waiting for new video game to be released, GTA 4 is to be release at the end of April but man snaps in rental store when he finds out he'll have to wait a few more weeks. Video Game addiction plays key role in this shooting, states local police.

Marcus Fenix, 39, of Ruined City, Michigan, was a Skynet machines programmer who was taking the drug Synthehol to try and kick his online gaming habit, the Smallville's Daily Torch reports. I know a lot of you people are reading this with out batting an eye and probably have yet to figure out this story is a fake! Well, gotcha... Now if I would of titled the story "Local Gamers Give $4,000 to Michigan Charity", how many people would of read it? Really...?

It seems our local media feels the same way! Last week Gamers Outreach Foundation, through they're annual "Gamers for Giving" event raised over $4,000 for the Michigan Branch of The Autism Society of America. The event was a huge success, with gamers from all over Michigan and the United States converging on to Eastern Michigan Campus to pitch in and support a great charity!

We invited the guys from Gamers Outreach in studio to present the "Over sized Check" to the Autism Society local chapter Representatives, last week. We also sent out invites to all local TV Media News Stations, just in case they wanted a nice "Puff" make you feel good story for the 10 o'clock edition. I was so surprised to see how many station vans pulled up to the 97.1 studios! NOT A SINGLE ONE!

I know, before you go say " There are bigger stories to cover then some stupid Video Game Radio show looking for PR", you are correct! I to feel I can't get enough news on Kwame or Michigan gas prices or people losing the jobs and homes here in Detroit....

OK, really?..?

I just think its time video gamers, yes you.. The lady that can't put down there cell phone version of Bejeweled - the guy that comes home from a long day of work to play a few innings of MLB 2k8 before dinner - the kid that just PWNS at Call of Duty 4.. You are all gamers! So the next time the media lumps you in a group of crazy, anti social "Gamers" they mean YOU! It's time the media share more positive stories about us and start reporting the real news about the Video Game Industry, which is a hell of a lot bigger then the Glamorous Movie Industry, which we all can't even relate too!

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest! And you all that still think the story about was real? Don't you have a DVR recording of Gossip Girls to watch!
